Need to change the cable

I have an odd setup where the shifter will not be attached directly to the deraileur. My shifter cabke must go through a sensor so that the motor on my bike knows I am shifting and will pause the Motor during the shift. I have a device that I can directly connect the NXS to and can mount it firmly to the frame. However I will need to install a longer cable, and I would rather not open the NXS before I know how to change the cable. BTW I will be replacing an Archer shifter, whom I assume you know went out of busness. Thank you for your quick response. Larry

The cable is super easy to change. There is a small rubber plug on the side. Just pull it out and you can fish a new cable in very easy. If the cable is frayed though, don’t force it. Trim it off clean before removing. We will be releasing a nice mounting bracket soon, but if you have one that’s fine. There will also be a special fitting for the nose of the shifter to accept a small, 3mm cable housing that will be included in the kit. For now, you can just butt the cable against the housing and it will work fine. Just be sure the rubber seal is in place.

We have heard of Archer. They had a product similar to this, but IIRC, it was pretty huge, heavy and overpriced.
