Installed my shifter on a 10sp Deore derailleur just after Christmas and after repeated attempts to get it to work it still will not shift to the largest 3 cogs. I set the app to 10 speed and it shifts 10 times but the travel is consistently short of the cassette width.
I’ve done multiple resets and re pairings and started from scratch but every time when I try the manual adjustment the RD stops short of the 8th cog. Also, the initial numbers that come up in the adjustment are very random, from .1 mm to 62.xx, similar to what some others experienced.
OG hasn’t responded to any bug reports in weeks (I hope all is well) so, unless another investor has an answer for me, I have to take it off and re-install my cables.
Hoping someone can help.
Thanks, Vince
If you are seeing random numbers, then possibly the motor is not homed out. If it stops short, there are 2 reasons: Either you are running into the limit screw, or the motor does not have enough power to overcome the derailleur spring (Unlikely though). I suggest you test without the cable connected. Do a full 10 second reset to clear the data. Test it in factory setup and verify its working. Verify there is no mechanical binding on the derailleur. If its good, then try the setup again.
NOTE: We have seen customers connect the derailleur cable wrong. You can get the routing wrong, or on the wrong side of the clamp screw. In which case it will take excessive force to pull, or not be able to at all.
Thanks for getting back to me. I was sick with the flu and just now had a chance to get back to it.
The motor was at home, cable routed correctly, etc.
What I finally did was set the limiter screw “below” cog 1, and then connect the motor cable, making sure the motor is at home.
I was then able to manually adjust the motor “up” to cog 1, then adjust 1 mm at a time to get it to cog 10.
Test ride tomorrow.
