Tearing my hair out

Inatally all was good, in fact very good, very happy. Then the pin code issue reared it’s ugly head. Checked the other posts (real documentation would be a lot easier, but that is a topic for another day) and saw the reset, etc. procedure. Kept the pin 1111, setup the shifter as new, when done, it wanted the pin, entered 1111, long wait, then asked for it again. It would not save the settings unless the pin was correct, whitch would not work. Loop to loop. For all intents and purpose I now have a brick for a bike. I am 500 miles from home so I can’t even put the old shifter back on. In a word, I am currently screwed. Why is there even a pin? If you can reset the shifter by pressing a couple of buttons, what does it accomplish? If you change something, how about a “ are you Sure" prompt and get ride of the pin.

Same problem here. Reset six times, always comes back to the pin request and now it will not even let me past that.

Would be great to get a reply to this one - not sure I am installing mine before I see some sort of quick resolution. This could be me.

I had a feeling I wasn’t the only one. I did get a direct reply. Rinse and repeat. New app being released, but same fix that does not work.

I struggled with the PIN error also. Here is how I was finally able to fix it after support clarified that red button had to be held for 10 seconds to reset the hardware. After this the 1111 PIN worked. Please note that I still had to do the red button hardware reset multiple times to get the motor manually setup (YMMV).

That helped! Thank you!

Here is what helped me.

the “documentation” refers to the reset button and some to the silver button.

There are no photos of the buttons and the video does not work.

So after a few weeks of scanning user provided information (not always correct) I finally figured out the red is the reset button, which you press for 10 seconds to reset everything and as long as you are quick you can pair the pad using a hidden button on the pad (under the N on the logo) by pressing that for six seconds within doing the reset. Simple right?

The silver button is used to rehome the shifter. Beyond that I am not sure.

I am using the new iOS app, so far so good.

Real documentation would save everyone a lot of time and grief. The actual product is good, but having to figure things out by relying on other peoples experience is a mess. Response from OG is slow and not always complete.
